On holiday at Astley Castle - a RIBA Stirling Prize winning ruin

Our summer holiday was spent at Astley Castle. Four photo nerds in a stunning house with our gorgeous little doglets ... the result was a series of beautiful photos which we've put together in this ebook as a record of our lovely holiday at Astley.

Over the weekend I was catching up on the week's news and watched the award of the 2016 RIBA Stirling Prize with interest as earlier this year we stayed at Astley Castle, winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2013.

Astley Castle is a thirteenth century fortified manor house that fell to ruin after a devastating fire in the 1970s. The building was rescued by the Landmark Trust who embarked on a bold and unique restoration of the ruins to create an astonishing and unique building.

A huge thank you to Grzegorz Gebik and Mr M for being such fun on holiday and for allowing us to publish their beautiful photographs in this ebook.
