Holly&Lil's Harris Tweed Collars in a wide cut to show more of that beautiful Harris Tweed!

Holly&Lil's wide-cut Harris Tweed Collars are fab for showing off more of the beautiful Harris Tweed on a dog's neck.

Harris Tweed is a unique and beautiful cloth, the only cloth in the world to be governed by its own Act of Parliament, and a timeless British classic, delivering effortless British style.

The wide cut Harris Tweed Collar is suitable for most breed of dogs, and particularly good for dogs with hairier coats that can often hide a collar. The width of the collar and a D-ring on the back of the neck works well on breeds with relatively wide necks and larger breeds.

Classic Wide Cut Collar:

  • Cut wide to show more of the Harris Tweed on the back of a dog's neck at 38mm / 1.5 inches wide
  • Fastens with a sturdy buckle
  • D-ring is positioned on the wide part of the collar (not next to the buckle)
  • Wide part of collar sits on the back of the dog's neck when walking on lead
  • Fastening holes reinforced with metal eyelets on collars from sizes X and larger
  • Matching Harris Tweed Dog Leads also available

Harris Tweed Dog Collars are also available in a Classic Slim Cut (slim and straight) and a Sighthound Cut for long, sensitive Sighthound necks).

Choosing the right size collar

The sizes shown for our dog collars (e.g. 10.5" - 12.5" or 13" - 16") indicate the position of the first fastening hole to the last hole, not the length of the actual collar overall. Ideally the collar should fasten in the middle of the fastening holes on a collar when fitted correctly for your dog. Please see our guide to Measuring for a Dog Collar for detailed instructions on how to measure and fit your dog for a collar.

Harris Tweed & Leather Care

To keep the leather in peak condition, use a good quality leather balsam to treat the leather from time to time.

If your collar needs to be cleaned, rinse under cold or lukewarm water; use a mild shampoo if necessary and rub gently. Pat dry with a soft towel – soak up as much water as possible. Dry naturally away from direct heat.

If your dog is treated with any topical medicines in the neck area, please do not put the collar on your dog for at least 48 hours - this includes when treating with "spot on" type flea/tick treatments. Some medicines contain strong chemicals that can affect the leather on the collar.

Sharp Nails Warning

Harris Tweed is a tough old fabric but it is a woven fabric so please be advised that dogs with small, sharp, needle-like claws who like to scratch may damage the tweed, just as scratching any fabric with sharp, needle-like nails would.
