Here's our top tips on choosing the perfect bed for your dog from size to shape to style and for specialist use scenarios and sleep requirements. We've got it all covered so your dog can sleep well.
THE RIGHT SIZE
Always allow enough room for your dog to stretch out fully in their bed. Measure your dog as shown in the illustration and then multiply the height and length by 1.25 for the dimensions for your dog's bed. This gives your dog the option to curl up or stretch out like a starfish.
THE RIGHT SHAPE
From a dog's comfort perspective, shape is is simply driven by how they like to sleep - round beds for dogs that love to curl up and rectangular beds for dogs that love to stretch out. From a practical space perspective in the home, round beds take up slightly less space as there are no sticky out corners.
WITH SIDES OR WITHOUT?
If your dog loves to nestle their back into something soft, or rest their chin on the side of their bed then a bed with sides is a must. For dogs who love to stretch and hang off their beds then choose a simple mattress style bed with no sides.

Velour Collection
Velvety soft to touch but with a Martindale Rub Test Score of 50,000, our Velour fabric is most commonly found on smart sofas and armchairs. The luxe yarns used to weave this fabric are made entirely from recycled polyester - this is a high-performance Velour with great eco credentials too. Available in a gorgeous selection of bold, beautiful brights.
Weave II Collection
Pluck-resistant, stain-resistant and wear resistant. Weave II is a textured plain with a woven finish and yet it's pluck resistant and won't catch or pull on your dog's nails. A Rub Test Score of 100,000 plus FibreGuard stainguarding washed in to deliver exceptional resistance to any dirt your dog may choose to throw at it. Available in 3 beautiful neutrals.
Faroe Collection
The look and feel of an upholstery wool without the maintenance headache. Faroe has as rub test score of 100,000 making it suitable for use on seating on public transport and yet it handles like a dream. With FibreGuard stainguarding washed in, it's an absolute dream to spot clean between washes. Available in 5 fabulous colourways inspired by the natural world.
GORGEOUS & PRACTICAL
As dog lovers ourselves, we know how important it is that dog bedding is as easy to clean and care for as possible. That's why we design to a mantra of 'machine washable everything' and have options for waterproof liners, spare covers and replacement mattresses and pads. Anit-Microbial Waterproof Dog Bed Liners
Soft, breathable Anti-Microbial Waterproof Liners are available for all Charley Chau dog beds - barrier protection to keep our dander, dust and dirt, and to prevent the growth of bacteria, mould, fungi and other micro-organisms.
Spare Dog Bed Covers - fully removable & machine washable
Spare Bed Covers are available for all Charley Chau dog beds so that you never have to rush a wash through and your dog never has to be without their favourite bed. Also fab for a change if you want to re-style your dog's bed. Simple but so, so useful.
Replacement Deep-Filled Mattresses & Travel Pads
We don't believe that dog beds should be disposable but if you ever need to replace the mattress or any of the other filling pads in any Charley Chau Bed, replacement mattresses and feather pads are available so that you don't have to replace a whole bed.
