The launch of the Anti-Microbial Memory Foam Mattress is another step on our journey of creating dog beds that fit the "buy well, buy once" approach to consuming less in this modern world full of short-lived, disposable products. We're the first to acknowledge that Charley Chau beds do not come with a bargain basement price tag but we do believe that every Charley Chau is a good long-term investment in the comfort stakes for your dog as well as financially for your pocket!

Key to comfort in good dog bed is the mattress and our memory foam base is a unique, layered foam mattress made to Charley Chau's exacting specifications by one of the leading foam converters in the UK.
The top layer is Vasco 40 memory foam which is soft and moulds to support your dog's body to deliver orthopaedic levels of comfort but is resilient and will also hold it's shape over time. The blue foam on the bottom is a layer of support foam which protects your dog from the floor if they ever drop down suddenly onto the bed - they're never going to "thud through" to the floor.

We design to a mantra of "machine washable everything" because we believe that our customers, both human and canine, should never have to put up with a dirty dog bed. Memory Foam is brilliant but sadly it's not machine washable so we were faced with a challenge.
Our solution is to cover the internal layered memory foam mattress with an Anti-Microbial Mattress Liner that protects against dust mites, bacteria, mould and lots of other nasties that you would never want in your dog's bed. It's a fabric most commonly used to seal human mattresses in hospitals - it literally keeps the mattresses hygienically clean and it's brilliant: breathable, waterproof, washable and, most importantly, soft to touch so that your dog won't even notice it's there.
Simple, but smart in Faroe with easy on/off covers

Faroe has been a huge hit with our customers since we launched it in 2020 to celebrate our 10th birthday and is available in five gorgeous colourways
Simple styling with a box edge construction and smart, piped-edge detail; finished in Faroe, a beautiful upholstery-quality fabric with the look and feel of an upholstery wool. Faroe is gorgeous but tough - tough enough for heavy commercial upholstery use with a Martindale Rub Test score of 100,000. The fibres in Faroe are also treated with a stain-guard that is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, so it’s a dream to spot clean in between washes.
Our cover design has an easy "on & off" design with a zip fastening running around three sides of the bed so the cover opens up a bit like a book cover to make life very much easier on wash days, especially with the larger size mattresses.
Build your dog's perfect dog bed
Our Anti-Microbial Memory Foam Mattress is designed to be super-versatile. The mattress works brilliantly on it's own for dogs that just love to stretch out but our customers can add Mini Bolster Pads to the mattress for their dog to nestle into or rest their chins on, or go all out to cocoon the mattress with our bolster nest filled with ethically sourced duck feathers.

We've designed a lot of dog beds since we started in 2010. The designs that are available on our website are only a tiny fraction of the designs that we've worked on over the last twelve years because we only launch a new bed when we are 100% happy with every aspect of its performance from canine comfort to styling to performance over time. It's what Charley Chau has built our reputation on and we have no intention of resting on our laurels!
